Join us at our Open House this December and see firsthand how we make learning come alive with hands-on experiments and interactive activities. In our 45-minute session, your child will discover how Science concepts and skills can be effectively acquired with fun and excitement!

Let your child experience the MQ difference

Get a fun first-hand experience of MQ’s unique learning approach through a short session that mirrors our actual lessons’ activities.

Discover how MQ makes complex concepts easy to understand through experiments and hands-on activities.

Take home our learning materials and your child’s creation from the completed activity, perfect for revisiting what they’ve learned and sparking meaningful Science conversations at home.
Lesson content
P3 / P4 (2025):
Light Up with Electricity

Our hands-on activity gives P3 and P4 students an exciting head start on electricity, a topic they’ll officially learn in Primary 5! Through this fun introduction, they’ll gain an understanding of circuits and electricity.
-
Build simple circuits using batteries, bulbs, and wires
-
Observe how electricity flows in closed vs. open circuits
-
Discover conductors and insulators
Science skills in action: Experimenting, Observing, Inferring
P5 (2025):
Science of Slime

In this slime-making activity, P5 students revisit concepts from the P4 topic “Matter” and get hands-on with the properties of a non-Newtonian fluid. This is a rare activity as most MOE schools don’t offer it, and all our young scientists love it so much that they give it two thumbs up!
-
Make your own slime and observe the transformation of its physical properties
-
Learn about mixtures in relation to the states of matter
-
Use real Science apparatus to conduct the experiment
Science skills in action: Manipulating Apparatus and Materials, Observing and Describing

FAQs about our Open House
Q1: What exactly will my child do during the session?
Your child will engage in a hands-on, interactive activity related to the topic for their level (Electricity for P3/P4, Slime for P5). These are designed to be fun, engaging, and provide a taste of our teaching style.
Q2: Is this a full Science lesson or just a preview?
These 45-minute sessions are taster lessons designed to give prospective students an engaging preview of MQ's unique curriculum and activity-based learning approach. They are not comprehensive lessons intended to cover entire topics.
Q3: What should my child bring to the session?
Your child only needs to bring their enthusiasm! All necessary materials for the activity and a worksheet will be provided by MQ.

Q4: What happens if I miss my session?
We will arrange for you to attend the session on an alternative date. However, if there are no more running sessions, you may choose to top up the fee for your child to experience a full trial lesson.
Q5: How does this Open House differ from MQ's regular Science programmes?
The Open House focuses on a single, engaging activity to showcase our activity-based methodology and pedagogy, offering a direct experience of how we spark curiosity. Our regular programmes delve deeper into the curriculum, including comprehensive topic coverage and Open-Ended question techniques.
Q6: Will there be any special discounts or promotions for attending the Open House?
Our customer service team will be happy to share our prevailing and ongoing promotions which you are eligible to enjoy. If you are joining us before 15 December 2025, don’t miss out on our Early Bird Promotion.
Q7: Is this an online session?
No, all Open House sessions are physical only and will be conducted at our centre.
Q8: My child is in P4 but wants to attend the P5 Slime activity. Is this possible?
Participation is strictly based on the child's academic level to ensure the content is appropriate and beneficial. Therefore, a P4 child cannot attend the P5 Slime activity.
Q9: My child is in P5 but is interested in the Electricity workshop for P3/P4. Can he/she attend that instead?
Similarly, attendance is strictly based on the child's academic level. A P5 child cannot attend the Electricity workshop, which is designed for P3/P4 students.
Q10: What are the qualifications of the teacher conducting these sessions?
Our sessions are led by an experienced educator, Mr Zhi Long, who is proficient in making Science engaging and accessible for primary school students.
Q11: Does MetaQuest have plans to open up Science classes at centres other than Toa Payoh?
After your child’s Open House session, we will be gathering interests for 2026 classes. If we are able to open a new class outside of Toa Payoh, we will definitely do so.
